The National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2005 established the new Defense Task Force on Sexual Assault in the Military Services in order to investigate the problem of sexual assault across all services in the military.
The Task Force held an open meeting from August 11-15, 2008 to organize, provide pertinent background and training for members and attendees. Task Force members are charged with conducting interviews and other investigative activities at multiple bases inconus and overseas.
