AcademyWomen was founded in 2003 to support inspire and enable current, former and future women military officers to reach their full potential as leaders in the military and throughout their lives.

AcademyWomen offers an annual symposium, quarterly newsletters and a cross-service eMentor program for all military women. Through our local chapters, AcademyWomen offers regional events to strengthen dialogue between academy women. We support research focusing on the professional development of academy women in the military, academy women transitioning to civilian careers, and academy women in professions subsequent to their active duty service.

Our members include military officers, astronauts, pilots, combat leaders, ship commanding officers, business executives, diplomats, civic leaders, entrepreneurs and home-makers. The Emily J. T. Perez Foundation was established in 2006 by Daniel and Vicki Perez to honor the life and legacy of their daughter, Emily, through a mentoring and scholarship program for girls and young women. 2LT Perez, a 2005 graduate of the United States Military Academy, was killed in Al Kifl, Iraq on September 12, 2006, when an IED was detonated near her Humvee during combat operations.
