AcademyWomen was founded in 2003 to support women from the nation’s premier military academies & officer development programs. AcademyWomen’s mission is to support, inspire and enable women to achieve unimagined possibilities and reach their full potential as leaders in the military and throughout their lives.
AcademyWomen offers an annual symposium, quarterly newsletters, and is developing a cross-service e-mentor program for all military women. In the future, AcademyWomen will offer regional events to strengthen dialogue between academy women. We also plan to conduct research and influence policy focusing on the professional development of academy women in the military, academy women transitioning to civilian careers, and academy women in professions subsequent to their active duty service.
Over the past three years, our membership has grown to over 900 women, including: military officers, astronauts, pilots, combat leaders, ship commanding officers, business executives, diplomats, civic leaders, and entrepreneurs.
AcademyWomen members are the women pioneers who bravely sought military training and now represent a new and outstanding paradigm of female leadership.
